St. Pölten Festspielhaus | Großer Saal

  • Wen-Pin Chien, conductor

Gustav Mahler

For his ballet to Mahler’s 7th Symphony, Martin Schläpfer follows the dramaturgical principles he has progressively evolved over several years, with associative collages of contrasting images. Antitheses flow into each other organically, enabling an entirely new energy to be created on stage. The search for home forms the foundation for a performance which increasingly condenses into a dance on the volcano. This marks the third guest appearance at Festspielhaus St. Pölten by the Ballett am Rhein, one of the most successful and innovative ballet companies, voted «Company of the Year» by tanz magazine in both 2013 and 2014. The Tonkunstler Orchestra performs under the Deutsche Oper am Rhein’s conductor Wen-Pin Chien.
