Programmes

Yutaka Sado and the Tonkunstler Orchestra round off the Haydn theme of their first season together with ‘Le Soir’. A work which was considered no less innovative in its time is Felix Mendelssohn’s E-minor Concerto. The solo part here will be taken by the German violin virtuoso Christian Tetzlaff, one of the most sought-after soloists in the world. To conclude, Richard Strauss’ tone poem ‘Ein Heldenleben’, first performed in 1899 conducted by the composer, is a piece which makes the highest musical demands and is greeted by
the Tonkunstler Orchestra as a welcome challenge.
