Programmes

Once upon a time, there was a famous composer: Gustav Mahler. He had a wonderful understanding of how to conjure pictures in vivid colours – but not with a brush. He painted with notes and sounds, directly in the heads of his listeners. In one of his famous symphonies, he depicted nature waking from its winter sleep. This music is the canvas on which he «painted» his sounds, in which you can meet hares, foxes and deer, along with Martin the hunter, a titan and, naturally, Gustav Mahler himself. The composer in person invites you to immerse yourself in his musical fairy-tale. Until then, all we can tell you here is: the story is exuberant, funny, grotesque, dangerous and extremely bad-tempered. But don’t be afraid! Right from the start you can hear distant fanfares heralding that all will be well.
