Yutaka Sado will remain Music Director until 2025

Yutaka Sado will remain Music Director of the Tonkunstler Orchestra until 2025. At the annual Tonkunstler Orchestra press conference in Vienna on Wednesday 20 March, Yutaka Sado signed his new contract. The term lasts until the end of the 24-25 concert season.

The Tonkunstler Orchestra’s new concert season begins on 21 September 2019 with Antonín Dvorák’s Requiem. The season is dedicated both to the symphonic masterpieces of Romanticism and to the music of the 20th century. Symphonies and concertos by Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven will be performed in the subscription concerts in the Musikverein Wien. The traditions of the Romantic symphony are reflected in masterpieces by Anton Bruckner, Antonín Dvořák, Robert Schumann and César Franck. Contemporary music’s place in the Tonkunstler Orchestra’s concert programme is once again assured with compositions by Thomas Larcher and Bernd Richard Deutsch.
