Campus Grafenegg

The activities for the promotion of musical excellence in Grafenegg are brought together at the Campus Grafenegg. Various project modules make the Campus a unique platform that prioritises learning with and from others. The Campus comprises the European Chamber Music Academy (ECMA) in cooperation with the University for Music and Performing Arts Vienna, the residence of the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO), the workshop for composers 'Ink Still Wet' and the working period of the Lower Austrian Youth Symphony Orchestra. In addition, the Grafenegg Academy Orchestra represents a performing body that provides a further step in musical education, making possible the advancement of musical excellence for players at the start of their professional careers.

Together, all elements of the Campus Grafenegg support the musical development of the participants and promote the interdisciplinary training of the musicians. Musical and non-musical aspects of the concert programmes and the Campus's annual thematic focus are examined in various formats. These formats range from roundtable discussions to music labs and moderated rehearsal situations, which focus not only on the technical aspects of music practice but also on other essential components. The concerts of the individual modules are augmented by presenting new concert formats in music galleries, 'Music in the Park', prelude concerts and informal late-night sessions, which offer musicians further performance opportunities. The Campus Grafenegg 's music labs offer musicians and composers the opportunity to expand their own musical and technical training around interdisciplinary connections, artistic self-management, entrepreneurial skills and communication strategies.
