Press release 20–21

The Tonkunstler Orchestra’s new concert season begins on 4 October 2020 in the Wiener Musikverein with Carl Orff’s scenic cantata Carmina Burana. This is followed by such highlights of orchestral music as Antonín Dvořák’s Ninth Symphony «From the New World», Gustav Mahler’s First Symphony, Richard Strauss’s Alpine Symphony and Franz Schubert’s «Great» C Major Symphony as well as Igor Stravinsky’s «Le Sacre du Printemps». At the lectern, Mei-Ann Chen, Long Yu and Patrick Hahn make their debuts in the orchestra’s subscription series in the Musikverein Wien. Robert Trevino, Krzysztof Urbanski, Jun Märkl and François Leleux return as guest conductors. The orchestra is delighted to welcome Alice Sara Ott, Nobuyuki Tsujii, Alexander Ullman, Emmanuel Tjeknavorian and Lucas and Arthur Jussen as soloists.
