Programmes

Stage visionary Goethe sought to revolutionise theatre: in his drama «Egmont», he wanted to have music tell parts of the story. A challenge that Ludwig van Beethoven took up: he sketched the incidental music for the downfall of the Dutch count. Klaus Maria Brandauer now brings his voice to the musical drama. Inner dramas are also the subject of the «CocoonSymphony» by Composer in Residence Christian Jost. He describes what escape and stillness sound like when we withdraw into our true, inner selves.
