It’s the late bird that catches the worm at the Midsummer Night’s Gala! Every year some of the world’s finest soloists meet at the Wolkenturm to greet the summer with a varied programme. The Tonkunstler Orchestra, under the direction of its Music Director Yutaka Sado, rolls out a scintillating carpet of sound in the Schlosspark. In 2020, Rachel Willis-Sorensen, one of the most exciting contemporary vocalists, takes charge of the Wolkenturm. In Grafenegg she will meet Javier Camarena from Mexico, himself a star of bel canto. The young British saxophonist Jess Gillam is a master of her instrument and has been a credit to it at several major events – including the BBC Proms in London.
