Straight from the open-air stage to the Golden Hall! After his celebrated appearance as a star guest on the Domplatz in St. Pölten 2024, British soul and jazz singer Myles Sanko now joins the Tonkunstler again with his fabulous band led by keyboardist Tom O’Grady – this time in the Musikverein Wien. With the irrepressible energy he brings to all his live performances, he sings his way into the hearts of his audience, sometimes with emotion, sometimes with impulsive power. Sanko was born on the coast of Ghana. He went to the UK with his family, where he performed as a rapper in Cambridge and stirred up first the British and then the European soul scene with his self-produced debut single «Born in Black & White» in 2013. He writes his own lyrics and composes his own music, which is characterised by both Ghanaian and French influences and oscillates between rhythm and blues and soul, funk and jazz. One more thing: Myles Sanko is an outstanding performer! This evening will demonstrate how his music also works perfectly in a large orchestral format – especially when Music Director Fabien Gabel is on the podium.
