Programmes

The conductor François Leleux and the pianist Alice Sara Ott: two audience favourites return to the Tonkunstler with an enchanting concert programme! It took Camille Saint-Saëns a whole 17 days to put his now often performed Second Piano Concerto onto paper. It begins with a bow to Johann Sebastian Bach and calls for great artistry and virtuosity from its soloist. The orchestral musicians present their creative acumen and melodic sensibility in a seldom performed masterpiece by Johannes Brahms: the Serenade No. 1 in D major, with which he paved his way to the symphonic form.
