Joseph Haydn's 'Seven Last Words' was composed as meditative music for Holy Week and counts among the great wonders of music history: seven adagios, based on Jesus's statements in the face of death, invite contemplation and meditation . And yet they could not sound more exciting and varied. Before that, the Tonkunstler under Alessandro de Marchi whisk you away to Haydn's 'L'isola disabitata' - an 'uninhabited island' - while Emily D'Angelo transforms herself into Ariadne, who has been left behind on Naxos: an evening full of drama and deep emotion.
