Pjotr Iljitsch Tschaikowski
Suite from the Ballet «The Nutcracker» op. 71a, extracts

A nutcracker? You call that a Christmas present? What are you supposed to do with it? Crack nuts... and then what? Then put it on the shelf. The top shelf, next to the old books, the ones you’ve either read a thousand times or never touched. Although... it’ll get dusty up there. So maybe better in the drawer, where you won’t see it. Out of sight, out of mind... far from it! The theatre collective Studio Keck and a string quartet from the Tonkunstler Orchestra dust down the bookshelf, take the nutcracker out of the drawer and tell their own playful and poetic version of the famous Christmas fairytale.
