Where does the moniker «Eroica» come from? Why did Ludwig van Beethoven cross out the name «Bonaparte» on the title page so vehemently that the paper is torn? Who was the grand uomo, «great man», to whom the symphony was ultimately dedicated? What does this all have to do with Prometheus? And why did this work transform the history of the genre once and for all? Together with Albert Hosp and the young conductor Andrej Vesel, who comes from Zagreb and studied in Vienna, the Tonkunstler Orchestra reveal the secrets of one of the greatest works of Viennese Classicism – the perfect complement to the opening of the season!
