Here a farewell, there a new beginning: What would we humans be without our extravagantly celebrated rites of passage? For many, the coming of the New Year is right at the top of the list of life’s events that absolutely have to be celebrated. And what could be a more fitting complement than music? And most especially the waltzes, polkas and marches of the Strauss dynasty, supplemented with popular classical works from many periods and styles. This repertoire is part of the musical DNA of the Tonkunstler Orchestra, a tradition that is dear and close to their hearts and to those of their festively minded audiences. Their New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day concerts offer the perfect setting to reflect on 2024 with both gratitude and good cheer and to welcome in 2025 with an expectant smile. To which we raise our glasses and say: Prosit Neujahr!
