These days almost everyone is telling us to remember the name Tabita Berglund. Of course, the loyal Tonkunstler public is already acquainted with the young Norwegian conductor: from her substitution in 2022 in the Musikverein Wien and later from the Grafenegg Festival, where she delighted them in 2023. Berglund and the Tonkunstler now begin a new chapter of this shared success story with music by Jean Sibelius – the fantastic Fifth and the tone poem «Pohjola’s Daughter», inspired by Finnish mythology. There’s also a musical reunion with the great Nicolas Altstaedt, who will shine as soloist in the thrilling Cello Concerto by Witold Lutosławski.
