Programmes

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s ballet «The Nutcracker», one of the most famous musical Christmas stories, is presented here in a version for brass quintet and one actor. The smallest audiences can join Marie and her enchanted wooden Prince on a journey through the land of the sweetest dreams and dancing reed instruments. It begins when Marie is given her Christmas present of a nutcracker and she immediately falls in love with it. Sneaking into the living room at midnight, the little girl is surprised to find a band of warrior mice confronting a company of toy soldiers. Thanks to Marie’s spirited intervention, the nutcracker and his toy soldiers win their bitter battle with the army of the Mouse King.
