This multimedia concert experience is all about water! In Johanna Doderer’s composition «Der große Regen» («The Great Rain»), water is an inner rainfall, an all-inundating musical idea. The young German composer Sven Daigger has set a poem by Christian Morgenstern to music in which the destructive power of the sea is evoked. And Avner Dorman, one of the most important figures in contemporary Israeli music, dedicated his spectacular percussion concerto «Frozen in Time» to the emergence of the continents. The programme is framed by projections and lighting effects that transform the Festspielhaus into a site of audio-visual experience.
