«O Fortuna, velut Luna»! When the Tonkunstler Orchestra open their concert season, they spare no expense and no effort. Together with the Vienna Boys Choir and the Wiener Singverein and supported by great solo voices, Yutaka Sado conducts the orchestra as they bring perhaps the most popular composition of the 20th century to the stage: Carl Orff’s scenic cantata «Carmina Burana». The 24 songs, based on texts from a medieval manuscript, are complemented here with a youthful work by Sergey Prokofiev. At the age of only 16 he completed his first violin concerto. In this concert his countryman Alexander Sitkovetsky performs the solo part.
