During preparations for classical concerts, the soloist is usually the last person to arrive for rehearsal. And in the concert itself, their contribution amounts to no more than the half hour before the interval. But what happens when the solo virtuoso designs a whole programme in partnership with the orchestra? Thomas Gansch, as instrumentalist, composer, singer and compère, joins Emmanuel Tjeknavorian as conductor and the Tonkunstler Orchestra to attempt just this! Classical and jazz, funk and folk, rock and pop flow into each other; older and new compositions link up to form a great evening full of adventure – on a symphonic scale, naturally.
