Programmes

Born in Skopje, pianist Simon Trpčeski already has a track record of celebrating Romanticism as a soloist in great virtuoso concertos with the Tonkunstler Orchestra. Now, surrounded by friends, he gives free rein to the sounds of his North Macedonian homeland – or rather, to the joyful music these outstanding musicians make from it together under the title «Macedonissimo». The superlative is no idle boast: critics have found the result «breathtaking», enthusing about «fascinating musical impressions somehow linking New Classical, salon music, jazz, Bucovina club, Sinti and Roma music – and yet with a strong character of its very own». Music that opens ears and hearts.
