A Requiem to start things off! The Vienna Singverein and a magnificent line-up of soloists open the festival with what is arguably Giuseppe Verdi's most popular work, composed in honour of the poet and writer Alessandro Manzoni. The Tonkunstler Orchestra under Yutaka Sado opens the evening with a new fanfare by Composer in Residence Toshio Hosokawa.
